Back Pain and Shoes - A Direct Connection

What is the connection between the shoes that you wear and your back? Pain. This would probably puzzle us at first but once you put some time thinking about it you would realize that it actually makes sense. A lot of people miss out on the importance of wearing sensible and comfortable shoes in relation to back pain, but for most chiropractors this is an essential preventive measure. Many of those who experience back pain continue to wear those stuffy formal leather shoes or ill-fit sneakers when in fact they should be putting on shoes with cushioned soles.

One of the main functions of shoes is that it serves as a shock absorber of the weight of the body. That is why we often see overweight people or those doing exercises or playing sports wear rubber shoes that sometimes even have air capsules.

Whenever our feet touch the ground such as walking which is a force three times our body weight; running which is five times our body weight; and jumping wich is 10 times our body weight the force is transmitted through our legs and up our spine.

If the shoes are performing below par then it would lead to back problems, and that is the time we seek alternative medicine and call in the chiropractors. Chiropractic doctors' easy enough suggestions include to always make sure that your footwear has vibram or rubber soles-never leather soles; sneakers should fit well, and replace them if they are already worn out.

When shopping for shoes, always make sure to not force your feet in order to conform to the shape of a pair of shoes.
